Sources: Caldwell-Pope agrees to free-agent deal with Magic

Sources: James Harden, Clippers agree to 2-year, $70M deal

James Harden has agreed to remain with the LA Clippers on a two-year, $70 million deal, league sources told ESPN on Sunday. The Clippers and Harden wasted little time in coming to an agreement as free agent All-Star wing Paul George's future with the team remained uncertain. George ultimately signed a four-year, $212 million max deal to join the Philadelphia 76ers early Monday morning, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The Clippers traded for Harden in late October and after a slow start, the point guard helped the Clippers turn around from a 3-7 start to being atop the Western Conference standings briefly at 34-15 in early February. Harden, a Los Angeles native, repeatedly expressed during the season how happy he was playing at home. The point guard, who will turn 35 in August, averaged 16.6 points and 8.5 assists in 72 games for the Clippers this past season.

Free agent point guard Chris Paul is signing a one-year contract worth more than $11 million with the San Antonio, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski on Sunday. Instead, Paul, 39, will spend his 20th NBA season in San Antonio, joining forces with coach Gregg Popovich as the Spurs look to build a winning team around 20-year-old star center Victor Wembanyama.

Hartenstein, 26, established himself as a quality starting center this past season for the Knicks, stepping into that role for New York after Michael Robinson suffered an ankle injury in December. Hartenstein became a key part of a magical season for the Knicks, who won 50 games as well as a playoff series for a second straight season for the first time since 2000. He averaged 7.8 points and 8.3 rebounds, playing in 75 games (49 starts) while shooting 64.4% from the field.

White went on to help the Celtics reach the 2022 NBA Finals, where they lost to the Golden State Warriors in six games. After primarily playing in a sixth-man role down the stretch and in the playoffs for Boston in his first half-season with the Celtics, White moved into the starting lineup for each of the past two seasons, earning second-team All-Defensive honors in each year and establishing himself as one of the league's premier two-way guards.

The Boston Celtics majority ownership group, led by Wyc Grousbeck, is planning to make the franchise available for sale. Grousbeck and partner Steve Pagliuca led a group that purchased the team in 2002 for $360 million. Since then, franchise valuations have skyrocketed, with the latest teams to sell controlling shares being the Phoenix Suns, which went for $4 billion to Mat Ishbia in February 2023, the Milwaukee Bucks, with Jimmy and Dee Haslam paying $3.5 billion several weeks later, and the Dallas Mavericks, with the Adelson and Dumont families paying $3.5 billion in December. The Celtics are one of the iconic franchises in professional sports, with an NBA record 18 NBA titles -- trailing only the New York Yankees (27) and Montreal Canadians (24) among all North American professional sports leagues.

LeBron James has agreed to return to the Loa Angeles Lakers on a two-year, $104 million contract that includes a player option for 2025-26 and a no-trade clause, sources told ESPN on Wednesday. The deal brings James back for his 22nd NBA season and essentially becomes a one-plus-one deal that allows him to reassess his Lakers and NBA future next summer. James joins Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal as one of only two players in the NBA with no-trade clauses.

The only player to eclipse 40,000 career points, he is fourth all time in assists, eighth in steals, eighth in 3-pointers made and third in free throws made. Last season, James became the first player to make 20 All-Star teams, passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar -- whom he had already passed for the all-time scoring mark -- for the most in NBA history. James' 20 All-NBA selections and 13 first-team All-NBA selections are also the most in the history of the sport.
