NEW SHOWS

This is supposed to start this summer. IT COULD BE GOOD. Patrick Stewart as a coked out tv show host.

I watched the iZombie pilot last night, because I didn't have anything else to watch AND IT WAS GOOD. It did have a very Veronica Mars vibe, which was a good show. I just wish the original broadcast didn't come on at the same time as SHIELD. I'm sure they won't keep repeating it on Friday forever... the CW has a new apocalypse show that starts next month :rwmad:

HMMM, I'll only watch it if at least three people tell me to and it has its own thread here and if there's a chance it gets renewed past one season.

sausageman mentioned it in chat the other night, maybe he watched it. WE'LL FIND OUT.

I tried that new show Bloodline on Netflix because the cast looked interesting (Sissy Spacek, Sam Shepherd, Kyle Chandler, others). It's a dark, slow-moving family drama that might be good, but after watching the first half-hour of the pilot, I felt like an hour had gone by. Eh.

SyFy getting in on Greek mythology. MAX HEADROOM!

This will be one of those shows I'll probably watch if nothing else is on at the same time. It doesn't look like it will be as fun as Atlantis was, but WHO KNOWS.

‘Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Spinoff Not Going Forward At ABC

I hear ABC and Marvel have put the brakes on the proposed Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff. The project was supposed to be set up by events from this season of S.H.I.E.L.D. and toplined by Season 2 cast additions Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood, revolving around their respective characters Lance Hunter and Barbara “Bobbi” Morse, aka Mockingbird. ABC and Marvel had no comment. The project had been developed quietly by S.H.I.E.L.D. executive producer Jeffrey Bell and co-executive producer Paul Zbyszewski.

S.H.I.E.L.D. fans have been divided by the spinoff, and there had been some backlash to the idea of taking some of the strongest new characters on S.H.I.E.L.D. away from the mothership series.

There was an inkling that the spinoff might not be going forward when ABC tonight renewed both existing Marvel series, S.H.I.E.L.D. for a third season, and Agent Carter, which bridged S.H.I.E.L.D.’s half-seasons this year, for a second.

ABC and Marvel also are secretly working on a potential series with John Ridley, who will be busy with a second installment of American Crime, just picked up by the network.
Good news?

DC still not dead! Greg Berlanti now has more shows on TV than Chuck Lorre and Dick Wolf combined:

Also officially ordered to series by the CW — as fully expected — are Arrow-Flash spinoff, titled Legends of Tomorrow, and Julie Plec’s Cordon, both from Warner Bros. TV. The studio’s remaining pilot, Dead People is well, dead.

Legends of Tomorrow, featuring a cast led by Brandon Routh and Victor Garber, is the third new serirouthes for WBTV-based producer Greg Berlanti who also has Blindspot at NBC and Supergirl at CBS. Both he and Plec will have 3 series on the CW next season — Arrow, The Flash and Legends (Berlanti) and The Vampire Diaries, The Originals and Cordon (Plec).

Legends marks the second DC pickup along with Supergirl, with Lucifer also looking good at Fox. Here are detailed descriptions of the CW’s newly picked up series, which joined the 9 renewed CW scripted series for next season:

DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW
When heroes alone are not enough… the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat – one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known? DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW stars Victor Garber (“The Flash,” “Alias”); Brandon Routh (“Arrow,” “Superman Returns”); Arthur Darvill (“Doctor Who”); Caity Lotz (“Arrow”); Ciarra Renee (“Pippin”); Franz Drameh (“Edge of Tomorrow”); with Dominic Purcell (“The Flash,” “Prison Break”); and Wentworth Miller (“The Flash,” “Prison Break”). Based on the characters from DC Comics, DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti (“The Flash,” upcoming “Pan”), Marc Guggenheim (“Eli Stone,” “Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters”), Andrew Kreisberg (“The Flash,” “Eli Stone,” “Warehouse 13″) and Sarah Schechter (“The Flash,” upcoming “Pan”).
