NFL, NFLPA approves helmet design to reduce QB concussions
The helmet performed 7% better than the most popular helmet worn by quarterbacks last season, the league said in a memo sent to team executives Thursday. Jason Neubauer, an executive for Vicis, said the company began designing its Zero2 Matrix QB helmet in early 2022.
Peacock will exclusively carry NFL playoff games
The Peacock exclusive game on Jan. 13 will start at 8:15 or 8:30 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on NBC stations in the markets of the two teams. It will also be available on mobile devices through the NFL+ package. It will be preceded by a late afternoon playoff game on NBC and Peacock that will kick off at 4:30 p.m. ET.

NFL suspends four players for gambling violations
Isaiah Rodgersand Rashod Berry of the Indianapolis Colts and free agent Demetrius Taylor were suspended indefinitely -- through at least the 2023 season -- for betting on NFL games last season. In addition, Tennessee Titans offensive tackle Nicholas Pettit-Frere was suspended six games for betting on other sports at the workplace. The four suspensions were announced Thursday by the NFL.
Report: Tom Brady lost $30M in collapse of crypto giant FTX
Tom Brady lost millions in the collapse of cryptocurrency company FTX, for which he served as an "ambassador," The New York Times reported Friday. Under an agreement the retired NFL quarterback made with FTX in 2021, he received $30 million in now-worthless stock for his work pitching the company in television ads and at its conference. In step with him at the time was his then-wife, Gisele Bundchen, who received $18 million in stock, per the report. Brady, 45, ranked No. 50 on Forbes' 2023 list of the world's highest-paid athletes with earnings of $45.2 million in football salary and endorsements.

NFL revises policy to expand penalties for sexual assault offenses
The NFL has revised its personal conduct policy to expand the definition of sexual assault offenses, which could result in a more severe penalty. A first violation of sexual assault "involving physical force or committed against someone incapable of giving consent or involving threats or coercion" will result in a suspension of six games without pay "with possible upward or downward adjustments based on any aggravating or mitigating factors," according to the policy, which was obtained by The Associated Press on Tuesday.
