Today was a big day with lots of ups and a downer. Spent about four hours touring the alamo, exploring the River Walk, having lunch at Rainforest Cafe, shopping at The Farmer's Market, and walking around downtown San Antonio. The place is huge - didn't even see a 10th of it. And, it is beautiful there - a feast for the eyes. Even left my car behiind and took the trolley downtown. Being without my car handy is something I haven't done in a couple of decades. It was a weird feeling but I could get used to not having a car again if I lived someplace with public transportation as good as it is in San Antonio.
Then drove to Austin. On the highway there, a big rock flew out of nowhere and hit my car, leaving a bad spot on the right corner panel and the back of the right side mirror. That is going to lower the trade-in value. Then, was hung up in traffic for a couple of hours trying to go just 5 miles.
The traffic held up my friends too. We didn't make it to the snazzy restaurant in time to watch the sunset but we did get there. It is a very nice place, very visual, music, dancing, a bar, food, and a view. Another place to put on the to-do list whenever I go to Austin.
I'll show pictures later - got some pretty good ones today. Right now I'm wiped.
