Indeed. Your new crew here is pretty sketchy, bro.

Assuming you'll claim ownership that is.

I guess they mean well.

Like finger painters in a day room.

Ownership, no. Philosophical kinship, maybe. But only barely maybe, because I am a misanthrope and suspect them of secretly being human.

I guess I'm going to have to take your word for it.

Most of them seem like politically fixated blowhards who've mistaken sardonic wit for an actual sense of humor.

And I'll be damned if I can recall reading a single example of introspect in the last most recent batch of immigrants.

This is not the place for introspection. This is the place for pissing in the potted ferns and starting food fights by throwing stale bagels through the neighbors' windows.

If they're all psuedo-alpha male right-wing talking point trolls, they can stay there.

Or for short, trolls.

We need to change the name of this board, because it hasn't been a troll board for years. And there's little interest in rolling the clock back in that respect. The place is so post-troll that trolls seem awkward trying their acts out on us now.

What drove so many WFers nuts is that I'm not a troll, or as one put it, "We've never faced a troll like him!"

I just make and defend logical arguments, in all kinds of ways, with virtually no flaming or baiting. Unable to cope with that, the mods would just fill my threads with recipes for pies and ethnic food.

They don't know how to defend their own positions except by stigmatizing their opponents. (I just started another thread on that subject in Speak Freely).

And one shouldn't confuse introspection with navel gazing.

TLDR, kill yourself.

Hey. I'm not complaining about your recipes. They looked fantastic! :)

I'm just not sure what they were doing in so many threads on current events and political developments.

No. I'm just an evil monster who thought it would be hilarious to use disco to give false hope to hundreds of thousands of high-school marching band members.

"Guitars are out. Trumpets are the new soul of rock and roll!"
"It's not a real rock band unless it has trumpets!"
"Grow long hair, smoke weed, and play the trumpet! You won't believe all the groupies you'll get!"

And the morons fell for it. So many dreams shattered. So many lives destroyed. So many All-American burgers sold on their way to becoming assistant manager.

I played the trumpet in high school. This explains so much. I worked many soul destroying years as a cashier before becoming a soul destroyer as a DMV employee.

Last night I was talking to the 3rd shift weekend cashier down at the Shell station, which I often do. We often discuss law, government, philosophy, and religion for hours on end. He spent many years as assistant DA for Louisville KY, more years a public defender in Lexington, many years as a lawyer for the state environmental department, mostly handling mine reclamation cases, plus years in private practice. His son is an Army doctor who goes in with special forces to remote places his son can't talk about. He became a cashier because he'd often spend late nights talking to two other cashiers, one of whom has a master's degree in political science and who now also is in charge of the gun department at our Cabello's (he was trained by the military and Blackwater), and another who was a tanker from Michigan's upper peninsula who suffered a bit of brain trauma when he was sitting on the front of his Abrams in Korea when the gunner said "No. I'm sure the chamber is empty! *Boom*.

No, I'm saying that unlike people on the left who don't interact with people who have real jobs, and look down and denigrate such people as unwashed masses, people on the right interact with them at length. They all have stories to tell, as do the customers. Instead of living in some Ivy League liberal bubble, people on the right reach out and interact with those around them in countless ways. With some exceptions, we listen instead of lecturing. This is why working people rejected Hillary and voted for Donald Trump. He gets them. She doesn't.

I think, given your description, you'd make a great third shift cashier.

Possibly so. Third shift is the toughest because they only staff it with one person. The tanker from the UP is an incredible instinctive shooter. The DA/Public Defender also worked in a gun store. The political scientist trains, trains, and trains for pistol and assault rifle competitions. They do not put women on third shift.
