Hey. I'm a lot of fun.

But most importantly, I interact. As I told the people at WF long ago, I was kind of an oddball because I liked everyone there. Just because I argue with leftists doesn't mean I don't like them. Maybe that's what really drove some of them over the edge, to the point where they tried to construct a special dungeon for me. :D

I generally don't confuse the ideas I'm debating against with the people who are expressing them. A person is far more than the political and social positions they adopted in the late 20th and early 21st century, often through happenstance. But those ideas are themselves important in another realm, and that's why we have political discussion forums. :)

Hey. I'm a lot of fun.

Yeah, but not for the reasons you think.

So far, I like having you around because you make a fool of yourself by constantly waving your resume around.

Fucking hilarious.

That Rust Belt stuff had me rolling!

Look, if everybody's going to start rolling around in here, I'm replacing the carpets with green felt and putting open-topped cages into the floor in each corner of the room.

What drove so many WFers nuts is that I'm not a troll, or as one put it, "We've never faced a troll like him!"

I just make and defend logical arguments, in all kinds of ways, with virtually no flaming or baiting. Unable to cope with that, the mods would just fill my threads with recipes for pies and ethnic food.

They don't know how to defend their own positions except by stigmatizing their opponents. (I just started another thread on that subject in Speak Freely).

And one shouldn't confuse introspection with navel gazing.
You aren't a troll and you didn't defend logical arguments, you were a schill for Trump.

The Rust Belt losses are interesting.

New York Post article

INDIANAPOLIS — Steeling himself against the cold outside the Carrier air-conditioning plant on Thursday, Brian Dyson is ecstatic.

“Look, when Trump came here and said he was going to save jobs, I saw that as just another promise from a politician. Now I realize he is not a politician but a salesman and a deal-maker,” he said, pausing then adding, “And I kind of like it.”

Last week, President-elect Donald Trump stunned the nation when Carrier tweeted that they had worked out a deal with his team to save at least 1,000 of the 1,400 jobs that were set to be sent to Monterrey, Mexico next year.

When a victorious Trump, in his trademark red tie and blue suit, visited Carrier’s Indianapolis factory on Thursday, he was given a standing ovation by several hundred employees in the company auditorium.

Even among many of the workers who did not vote for the president-elect, the moment was electrifying. “To have the president-elect of the United States come to tell you ‘I have not forgotten you’, well that is a powerful moment for people who have felt as though their quest for dignified work and life was over,” said Dyson.

Dyson, who places sales on the line at the plant, has spent half his life here at Carrier. “It’s been a good job, it’s afforded me the ability to have that middle-class lifestyle that everyone dreams you can achieve when you work hard at your craft,” the 44-year old said.

“Trump deserves great credit for pulling this off, and certainly he deserves a second look from those of us who dismissed him because of how crazy this election cycle was. And you know what? He also deserves credit for coming to places like here, the middle of nowhere that politicians only talk about, not talk to,” he said.

Yes, that's a black union man praising the Republican President-elect. People like him and hundreds of thousands like him will have other working class people re-examining their assumptions about which party has their back and which treats them like a door mat. The Democrats' blue wall has come crashing down.

I've got peoples' backs. Some peoples'. Well, their spines. You'd be surprised how few solicitors knock on my door when they see my handmade... curtains.

Neither the Democratic Party or the Republican Party has their backs, the sooner people realize that, the sooner we can have true change.

That's why we got Trump. Mitch McConnell, Mitt Romney, and Jeb Bush didn't have their backs, and Hillary certainly didn't have their back. All the conventional party candidates were pushing for more trade deals. They wouldn't have attracted any cross over votes. Trump had a completely different perspective.

This is one of my trolls that didn't work out because it was just too effective.

Embrace the suck.

Yes, I have the whole album. It makes a great gift.

That's not really a troll because many people would actually embrace the kitsch and enjoy the ride.

I would get behind a replacement for the RickRoll called the DiscoEthelRoll.

:D

What makes it worse is that her album was recorded as just the straight show tunes, and then the producers went back and added all the disco stuff to make it "hip".

It didn't work and thousands committed suicide by shoving sharp pencils through their ear canals.

Dick Gregory said there were 2 Trumps.

One day, we'll be old, and say, and do crazy stupid shit too. Just like Dick Gregory, and Ethel Merman. Are you old gturner, or just stupid?

By your mastery of English syntax and sentence structure, I'm guessing you're in 7th grade. Don't worry yourself, things get better. They also get worse, but don't worry too much about that.

Yeah I'm in 7th grade. We have English together. I'm the guy that copies off you during tests.

Once you get past chapter 1 of "trolling for beginners" things get better. They also get worse, but don't worry too much about that.
