Star Trek Picard season 2

Well the actress they cast as the Borq Queen isn't the actress who played his mother in the flashback, so hopefully not.

Also Picard's mum lived to be an old woman according to TNG (unless they ignore that.)

KurtzmanTrek writers are not... renowned for their love of franchise continuity; this is generally excused on the grounds that previous series have occasionally slipped up, so why even bother to try.

It really is ironic that Trek's current animated series - Lower Decks and Prodigy - have done a far better job at respecting Trek canon than the current live-action shows have.

That relies on the writers having seen that episode.

Of course that was a weird alien thing that made him mom appear to him so maybe Picard just remembers his mother as an old woman because he doesn't want to think of her sexy and young (he's got issues!)

The stuff with Stewart and de Lancie together was great. The rest was decent. I'm a bit sick of evil alternate realities but at least it's not the stupid bisexual leather one from Discovery.

Sure were a lot of DS9 references (Dukat, Martok, SISKO!!!) Makes a change from when they try to make you nostalgic for Voyager.

Tasha Yar was also referenced on a screen apaz. Yeah, it was alright. I do find it annoying that instead of exploring the post-Nemesis 25th century we just get taken to an alternate reality, followed by a trip to Los Angeles 2024.

The violence was surprisingly graphic. Good cliff hanger tho.

Enjoyed this one too. Pacing seemed a bit fast, which is fine I guess. At least it's moving along unlike the other show. Whole lotta canon references. Q v. Picard scenes were great. It seems like the hokey mirror universe done right for a change. Jury's still out if they can keep it going without screwing the pooch.

I like that they've settled on a storyline and we are over all the introductions and surprises that didn't pan out in S1. And I don't mind that a Q story might end up being an excuse to fix some of the stuff that nobody liked about S1 with a snap of Q's finger.

NERD QUESTION: Would a Cardassian skull really have the bumps built in? That was kind of a dumb way to distinguish it. Besides, TNG's The Chase taught us that these species have more in common than not...

I was surprised the ferengi had bones in their ears, too. You’d think it’d all be cartilage. But I guess some artistic license is required or they’d all look more or less human.

I wonder if in this timeline deep space nine was never a federation outpost, they would have no interest in saving bajor, so the wormhole probably never got discovered.

With no Spock it kind of makes you wonder how they survived vger and the whale probe.

i might have been ok with a time travel plot but didn't have any patience for I Can't Believe It's Not The Mirror Universe so I stopped watching a few minutes in
