Fooled me. I thought Europe was an episode or so ahead so I checked tv.com and there was no upcoming episode with that title. I just assumed they gave the episodes different titles over in Europe.

Just watched Sunshine, the Danny Boyle movie... and it seems like the SGU people nicked a few elements from it for the episode when the ship was supposedly going to fly into the star. The music and visuals were very similar.
I saved mine and Loktar's SGU post last night, because I was afraid I wouldn't remember what I said about it. LOL I'M OLD AND MY MEMORY SUCKS.
Me: Not a bad mid-season finale, but some of it was really slow.
I was completely surprised when Young left Rush on the planet, but I totally saw it coming when they found out Rush was the one who set Young up. I suspected him from the start, because he wanted Young out of the way so he could use that chair-thingy.
The trial (or hearing, WHATEVER) was stupid. I was glad Ming-Na was in teh episode so much, but thought the idea that they'd force Young to step down with so little evidence was retarded. Plus putting Ming-Na in charge over the military did not make a lot of sense. There's no way she's experienced enough to make decisions regarding the gate missions!
Loktar: I'm sure we haven't seen the last of Rush though, since he was left on the planet with an alien spaceship.
Me: Yeah, I know he'll be back. It would be cool if he died and was never heard from again, not because he's a bad character but because it would be so unexpected.
OH AND I WAS TOTALLY WRONG ABOUT THE CRAZY GUY. I was sure he'd be the one in the chair, and not the scientist guy. Of course, as soon as he sent Eli off to get some purple potatoes I knew he was gonna do it.

Agree with everything you said. It wasn't that bad an ep and things DID happen, but it was also kind of predictable. Every step of the way you could tell how the next scene would end, it was only a matter of seeing how it happened. And it's obvious Rush will get the ship working. One thing that interested me was that the ship looked like the pod that broke off Destiny a few week's back, except the characters said it clearly wasn't Ancient.
Just like with everything else, it was inevitable that Young would punch Rush, but I'm getting tired of him just beating the shit out of everyone he disagrees with. Yeah, Rush is an arse, but marooning your best scientist is retarded.

Grr, reading people's comments on this show raises my blood pressure. There are still dipshits complaining that we never found out what happened at the end of "Time". Anyone that thick ought to have their television confiscated.
I know! I've tried to explain to people on other sites that there was enough there for us to just know how they saved themselves and that having a second part to the episode was unnecessary, as they'd just go through finding the kino, catching a critter, and then creating a medicine from it. Ending the episode that way was one of the most original ideas they've had on this show!

Ironic that after being cleared of murdering a nuisance to the ship, Young actually does it for real, we all know that Rush will get that ship working, but Young expected Rush to die there, thats why he told the others he was already dead.
I cant see Young surviving as leader after Rush gets back, unless Rush keeps his mouth shut to blackmail him, which would be a bad idea since hes already tried to kill him once.

I watched the MIDSEASON RETURN OR WHATEVER YOU'D CALL IT. It was OK, but I had a hard time even paying attention most of the time.
Rush and Young decide to not mention what they both did to each other. OH YEAH, Rush is alive and already back on the fucking ship. Ming Na's character is plotting to take over the ship, and now that Rush is back they're just going to do it. I thought these people were supposed to be smart? WTF? What have the military people done that is so terrible? They're trying everything they can to get the Destiny back to earth, they're working with the civilians, everyone has food.. I don't get it. I quite liked the ep. It wasn't bad, though I am getting a bit tired of not identifying with any characters. Even Eli's wearing a bit thin now. They're all sort of okay, but they're quite one-note (I don't want to say one-dimensional, because that implies a different level of crappyness). They're just not very engaging or interesting characters and we don't learn much about any of them. I really didn't give two shits about Chloe being taken. She's useless. Giant hole gets drilled through the hull while the ship's under attack and she goes right up to it to have a look, unarmed. Idiot. You would've thought by now that they'd have found a way to say "oh, Chloe, you're not really useless at all, we need you because you're our heart/moral center/something else", but there's been no attempt to give her a role. She's just a damsel in distress.
Anyway, so I'm surprised they brought Rush back so fast, but the alien encounter was fairly good. Young being such a dick all the time (even to Eli) is annoying. Are we supposed to even care that there's a coup against him? I'm on Rush's side, even though I agree they have little justification for it.
Young ended up swapping with the alien when he was meant to be going to Earth to give a debriefing about Rush. We don't know how the mix up happened, but it looked as though it was accidental/coincidental that it was the same ship that was about to attack them. The aliens didn't notice the swap overs.
