State of the Mine Field address

Hello Stuart & All:

Most of our departed posters - like, of course, myself - do still pay the occasional quiet visit to this old board. It should not surprise you. I have not forgotten my old friends and their strange lives so quickly. Over the years I have often wondered about you, Stuart, and hoped that you would one day stop sabotaging your life: and I still think about Decker and wish that he might one day condescend to leave a little note for me somewhere. Yet it is the unfortunate truth that Troll Kingdom has become too stupid and too depressing for me to linger very long. I cannot understand or appreciate its new personalities at all. First the board succumbed to the vigorous inanity of a middle-aged and not entirely literate bellhop. Now I log in to discover we are at the mercy of Torontonian 'strippers'! They are not a pleasant bunch. Tiff is moderately attractive but obnoxiously unintelligent and unmannered, whereas the others - the exemplar being Sly - are inhumanly hideous to boot. I realise it may be inappropriate to offer these comments about people I do not know, but, after all, a discussion as to the merits of strippers ought to be as acceptable as a discussion as to the merits of any other commodity. At any rate, it is a stupid situation. When witless little insults such as these fail to attract unanimous scorn:

So much hate... wow that one stripper you chased must have really broke your heart when she rejected you... you poor thing..

Now run along... your mommy has been looking for you... she said you forgot to clean your room..

...one realises that Troll Kingdom must be dead.

What do the carrots represent?

Alas, dear Wacky, I have not yet forgotten Decker's glacial sarcasms on my dietary habits, nor the soul-rending stab the evening he mentioned that my exercise ought to consist of walking past McDonalds. Perhaps if he ever does see one of my posts again - ah, what an foolishly, dreamily optimistic thought - I may lure him back to us through the image of his favourite thing in the world, the common garden carrot (he shall be forced to see how reformed and truly mature I have become).

Laura - Hello.

Note: I have not eaten carrots since '99! :chaching:
