Is Julie dead? Or is she changed into something else? The scene in the room where they found her was so dark.
The scary music while they were investigating the ship made me think something was going to jump out at them any moment! I hope they catch the spy and kick his ass.
Last episode was pretty fantastic. Do we have any idea yet when Season 2 is supposed to start? They're not gonna make us wait a year for this shit, are they?
IT WAS GOOD but felt like the season could have gone on longer. The first half of the first episode seemed to repeat some stuff but I guess it was important to see Julie as a person now that she's Miller's Head Six (assuming she appears again.)
They sure shot a lot of people!
The spy guy finally got what was coming (grabbed by an alien?)
Okay, those last three episodes were great. I've been spoiled a bit on the books, so I have some ideas where this whole thing is going now and it should be very interesting going forward. And since we have a YEAR until we get new episodes, I'm going to go ahead and read the first few books at least to help alleviate my boredom.
I'm reading the fifth book now and it's a bit weird because they keep calling Fred Johnson "old man" and I keep thinking "he's not that old!" and Amos is totally different and Avasarala swears a lot.
This series definitely got better with the last few episodes but boy I found it very confusing to start. I think the problem is that this show does a pretty bad job at showing the different locations and different groups of characters visually, everyone's just a grey person in a grey jumpsuit in a grey corridor. One of them has a hat.
Yeah even as someone WHO HAS READ THE BOOKS I got confused a lot at first. There's so many names of spaceships and spacestations and like you said a lot of them look similar (while also having good realistic designs.) I wonder if anyone even knew that "OPA" stood for "Outer Planets Alliance" because I sure don't remember them saying it much. But it's good that you think it got better as it went on.
As another BOOK READER I'm actually amazed that any non-book readers understood what was going on. They just kind of dropped us into this amazingly detailed, realistic world, without making much effort to explain who was who or what their motivations were. The fact that some people weren't who everyone thought they were and didn't have the motivations they claimed to, didn't exactly help. Very difficult to follow a conspiracy when you're not entirely sure what the status quo is. I think a lot of it could've been solved very simply by having an explainer in the main titles, a la BSG. Hopefully they'll take some of this on board for season two. I expect it's been a common complaint.
Despite that, the last two episodes were very good. The action scenes were particularly well done and of course the whole thing looks like a movie. I hope Miller features heavily in the next season as he's probably the best actor in it. I'm never too sure about Holden. They did a really good job of showing his innocence in the finale, when it takes him an age to realise the security forces blew up the ship in the dock. I guess I find a pretty boy hard to take seriously, which is exactly how everyone feels about his character.
I find it weird that the girl who played Julie was a series regular when all we saw of her before the final two episodes was a few brief glimpses on video.
