Retired NBA star Gilbert Arenas says he's happy to still be breathing after he cost Irv Gotti and Ja Rule $175k ... claiming he purposely busted up a bet they had on a game he was playing in -- and they were FURIOUS over it!! Arenas -- who was on the Warriors at the time -- said he was playing a road game against the Rockets when he overheard Gotti and Ja mentioning they had bet on the Dubs to cover the spread that night. Agent Zero says he had no idea what the spread was, but made it his mission to spoil their night ... knowing he had to score some more points to kill the bet. Arenas said his Warriors were losing to the Rockets, led by Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley, and with the game out of reach, he came down the court and threw up a half-court three-pointer. Naturally, the wild shot went in ... sinking any hopes Gotti and Ja had of cashing out that night.

Serena Williams To Wear Diamond-Encrusted Shoes For Last U.S. Open


Serena Williams will be hitting the court in style on Monday -- 'cause the tennis legend had a custom outfit and diamond-encrusted shoes made for her last U.S. Open. Serena who announced she was "evolving away" from tennis after the Grand Slam event designed a figure skater-style 'fit for her last on-court hoorah.
When Williams hits the court in Queens, she will wear a six-layer skirt ... paying homage to the number of U.S. Open championships she's won. Serena, 40, will also be sporting a matching jacket and tote to accompany the dress and shoes .. compliments of the Swoosh. The U.S. Open might mark the end of Serena's tennis career, but if that's the case, she'll be going out with a flare -- like she's always done.

Eavander Holyfield's gloves from his iconic rematch with Mike Tyson -- where "Iron Mike" infamously bit part of his ear off in one of the most memorable sports moments ever -- are hitting the auction block, and could fetch $100K! Holyfield wore the gloves during his highly-anticipated second fight with Tyson on June 28, 1997 ... when the two squared off at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.The red gloves worn by Holyfield -- one of the greatest fighters in boxing history -- were made by Everlast, and have "Holyfield #1" in black marker on each cuff logo. Larsa Pippen was spotted Sunday at Zuma -- a Japanese restaurant right in the heart of downtown -- with none other than Marcus Jordan ... and the two of them, we're told, appeared to be on a double date of some sort with another couple at their table. Eyewitnesses tell us they were there for about 45 minutes, and that there were no obvious signs of PDA between them. However, our sources say Larsa seemed to be trying to keep a low profile and got a little skittish when she realized folks had spotted her/were taking pics.

Aaron Rodgers has no blind allegiance to anything ... he scorns politicians -- be them Democrats or Republicans -- who impose the way they want to live on their citizens, and that includes abortion. Rodgers appeared on Bill Maher's "Club Random" podcast, which drops Sunday, and SFGATE got a preview. The famed QB ridicules Cali, saying "State's going to s**t, but I'm hanging on." He's especially angry at the State's COVID restrictions, saying, "I grew up in a small town, very little cases up in Chico, California, but all the small businesses? F***ing gone." Rogers agrees with Bill ... Donald Trump is like a sore loser on the football field. Bill says, "You take it like a man. You don't go, 'We won that game' That's what Donald Trump does. We won that game. You didn't. You lose it. It happens. You lose sometimes. Be a f**king man and just own up like every other president has ever done." Aaron gets a lot of criticism, but you gotta say ... he's a pretty consistent libertarian.

Suns Owner Robert Sarver Suspended 1 Year, Probe Finds He Used N-Word


Phoenix Suns owner Robert Sarver was just hit with a massive penalty after an extensive investigation into alleged workplace misconduct ... getting banned from the league for one season and forced to pay a $10 million fine. The NBA released the findings of its investigation after interviewing 320 current and former Suns employees ... and determined Sarver said the N-word at least five times "when recounting the statements of others." It's worth noting -- the league says Sarver's use of the N-word was not motivated by racial hate or prejudice. The league also concluded Sarver did not treat female employees equally and made inappropriate comments about their appearance. The NBA also states Sarver engaged in inappropriate physical conduct toward male employees.

Kanye West Wants to Sell Donda Sports Gear, Plus New 'Dove' Trademark


Kanye West is ready to expand his Donda Sports brand -- now signaling he wants to sell athletic gear ... not to mention an apparent side biz that he's hoping will take flight. His company, Mascotte Holdings, just filed for a few new trademarks -- including one that'll significantly grow his Donda Academy in the retail space ... and a couple others that seem to suggest he's got another label in mind that's for the birds -- in this case, literally. According to the paperwork, seen by TMZ, Ye's aiming to lock up the rights to Donda Sports ... specifically for the purpose of slapping it on a ton of products that run the gamut of sportswear and accessories he wants to hawk to potential customers. Some of the items that could bear the Donda Sports name, if the application is approved, include ... bags of all varieties, fanny packs, luggage, wallets, umbrellas and blankets.

Robert Sarver Selling Suns After N-Word Scandal, Adam Silver Says It's 'Right Next Step'


Robert Sarver will give up both the Phoenix Suns and the Phoenix Mercury after the NBA found he did use the n-word multiple times during his tenure as an owner in the leagues.The 60-year-old announced in a lengthy statement on Wednesday morning that he is "beginning the process of seeking buyers for the Suns and the Mercury" following the NBA's findings. "Words that I deeply regret now overshadow nearly two decades of building organizations that brought people together -- and strengthened the Phoenix area -- through the unifying power of professional men's and women's basketball," Sarver said, before adding, "but in our current unforgiving climate, it has become painfully clear that that is no longer possible -- that whatever good I have done, or could still do, is outweighed by things I have said in the past." In addition to using the racial epithet on at least five different occasions, the NBA also said Sarver made inappropriate comments towards women, and didn't treat his employees fairly or equally.

Robert Sarver Selling Suns After N-Word Scandal, Adam Silver Says It's 'Right Next Step' (Pt-2)


The Suns' org. has just commented on Wednesday's news ... saying, "We agree that Robert Sarver's decision to sell the Suns and Mercury is in the best interest of the organization and community."

NBA star CJ McCollum, the NBPA President, is weighing in on Sarver's decision to sell his teams, saying ... "We thank Mr. Sarver for making a swift decision that was in the best interest of our sports community."

Like LeBron, Adam Silver is in favor of Sarver's choice to sell ... saying in a statement Wednesday afternoon, "I fully support the decision by Robert Sarver to sell the Phoenix Suns and Mercury. This is the right next step for the organization and community."

LeBron James is clearly a fan of Sarver's decision ... tweeting minutes ago, "I'm so proud to be a part of a league committed to progress!"

Fat Joe Sues Tax Firm for Alleged Ponzi Scheme, Says MLB Players Victims Too


Fat Joe is suing his Chicago-based accounting firm, claiming it was running a Ponzi scheme that misappropriated his funds and those of some MLB players, too. According to legal documents, obtained by TMZ Hip Hop, Joe claims tax hub BDO, its longtime CPA Andre N. Chammas and his assistant Vanessa Rodriguez defrauded him in several ways. According to the docs, Joe noticed some accounting irregularities after Rodriguez was fired in July ... and he says things really didn't add up when he started taking a closer look.

Jordan Poole is set for a big contract extension with the Golden State Warriors -- something he's supposedly made known around the team's facilities -- and it's the reason things boiled over with Draymond Green... Jerry Jones Reportedly Told Robert Kraft 'Don't F*** With Me' At Owners' Meeting


Jerry Jones and Robert Kraft reportedly got into a heated argument at the NFL owners' meeting on Tuesday ... and things apparently got so tense between the two, Jones told Kraft, "Don't f*** with me. "Jones and Kraft met with other league owners in New York to discuss a variety of issues ... but at one point, according to ESPN, the Cowboys and Patriots honchos got into over commissioner Roger Goodell's future contract. Per the outlet, Jones wanted changes to Goodell's deal ... but Kraft didn't. The disagreement, according to ESPN, led to an exchange where Jones dropped the F-bomb comment. "Excuse me," Kraft reportedly replied to Jones' remark. "Don't mess me," Jones responded, per the outlet. Kraft then reportedly got his way ... with the owners siding with him in a 31-1 vote.

"Mental health is a serious issue and needs to be at the forefront of the American dialogue," Edelman wrote on social media. "It's also not an excuse for hate. Hate is a disease just like every other, except that words can spread it. Speak up, not down." People of all races and religions have been offended by Kanye's comments including basketball Hall of Famer, Ray Allen. "I see all the Kanye BS, like, he's an idiot," the NBA legend said on social media before issuing a warning about what we consume.
