What about the bit where Xander spends about five minutes going "hey what's that light what's that light coming towards us that light's getting closer seriously what's that light" then Willow eventually says "it's Tara!" and Xander says "Tara isn't a light!"
Bargaining part 1 is very good despite the biker gang, Bargaining part 2 goes off the rails pretty immediately and stays bad and doesn't have any emotional resonance and also the biker gang is still there.
Bargaining does two things with Xander:
-Boring marriage stuff with Anya that I'm already bored of by the end of the episode.
-Shows him unwilling to take responsibility and authority, preferring to let Willow be "in charge" both during patrols and of the group more generally while Buffy's dead. The second Willow is out of commission, though, he really confidently and competently takes charge and steps the fuck up. That's a really compelling direction to take the character - as a practical and competent leader who lacks confidence and is being held back by his reluctance.
Also I was enjoyed Story Wonk's MCU podcasts but they're ding the WHOLE MCU which means every episode of Agents of SHIELD and I don't know if I want to listen to all of them please get back to the movies.
"The gang gets possessed by a demon they raised when bringing Buffy back to life" is a good idea that they waste by having nobody get possessed for more than, like, 15 seconds, and then the demon is just a really bad looking old woman. None of the hauntings are super resonant (Anya cutting her face up? Dawn breathing fire?), the demon doesn't have any kind of recognisable goal (it's just hanging out and making its presence known occasionally despite not knowing it has to kill Buffy because: ???) and having it get defeated by Buffy instead of the gang feels cheap.
But, like, Anya could have breathed fire, or Xander, and it wouldn't be any less or more resonant. It doesn't mean anything that *Dawn* is the one who breathes fire, and it lasts only long enough for her to walk into the Magic Box, breathe a fire, and collapse, and it's completely throwaway.
