You beat me to it. Basically, I like Paladin, but him and Forbin are "tame" conservatives, like they trot out on Bill Maher, that stand docilely while rotten fruit is thrown at them. I blame it on living in liberal bastions for too long. Kudos on him for leaving. Too bad he didn't have the balls to go out in a blaze of glory.

Heck, my most memorable recent PM was to Tafkats, where I said "That long comment you just made should probably be a new thread or it's going to get buried."

Other juicy PM's are "Nice post! Keep it up!" and a couple to Dinner that were "Did you see this story? link", going to some European paper.

I almost never use PM's, and when I do it's usually for something that not only doesn't merit its own thread, it doesn't merit resurrecting a stale thread and would only interest one person.

I exchanged 36 PM's the whole time I was there. About half those were "I think I've been banned" and the other half were even less interesting.

And of course nothing in those boring PM's was revealed to the board, so it's all more self-justification and BS.

Notably missing in those 36 PM's? A warning from John, Gul, Anna, or ShootER at my posting behavior, although there was one from John warning me that if I PM'd anyone I'd lose my PM privileges. Oh, where's that sanctity of PM's in that?

Could you imagine the aftermath if their own PM's were leaked to the board? Where's Julian Assange when you need him?
 
Well I can't see myself visiting this place regularly so I'd like to say if this is permanent it's been nice knowing all you assholes. See you around.
 
For the record, there's a 75% chance that, when my ban expires, the first post I make will be starting a Help Desk thread to explain that it doesn't say anywhere in the rules that you can't say "nigger" in the Help Desk.

Speaking of which, remember when Shooter's custom user title (and therefore visible in every thread and forum he posted in) was "Nigger of the Newsroom"?

It's not actually. The original purpose was simply no holds barred debate.

That said, this is where Gul officially jumped the shark and proved beyond question that for him it's all about his sensitive princess ego. Now perhaps people will believe what I have been saying about him ever since he became owner. He should never have been given the keys. Neither should Anc, but he's gone. The very last person who should ever be in charge of a place like WF is a person so insecure and up their own arse as to be so incapable of self reflection they are willing to destroy the board rather than admit they're wrong.

Yes, I do. That's why I said Gul would be a bad mod before Castle was ever booted out...and as I have told Castle many times since, I would have called for him to be unbanned a long time ago as his ban was very weak. Castle just pissed away that support when he posted up all my unrevealed professional details on here and invited strangers to start fucking with me - which as a self employed lawyer, ad therefore a businessman, is a particularly dangerous think to do. Whatever people think of Gul, people who try and fuck with the real lives of Wordforgers using undisclosed information sourced from third parties shouldn't be the sort of people we have any WF. You might disagree, but had you been the target I doubt you would.

For 18 minutes on what for all intents and purposes was at the time a borderline dead board. After that 18 minutes, I asked to have the post removed. You didn't like an 18 minute hint of the kind of negative attention you and others at WF think it was just fine to dish out, your valuation of my public reputation notwithstanding. My valuation of your public reputation isn't so stellar, either, so weigh what your opinion of mine is worth.

Any danger to your precious rep comes courtesy of your own behavior, as I seem to recall you saying to me. Now take your own advice and quit cryin' about 18 months ago. Nothing happened to you, and nothing was even likely to. Quit bein' a platypus about it. :P

Another irony is that I saw RickDeckard as the most dangerous person to get in power. Who knew it would be sweet inclusive John? Who knew RickDeckard would wind up a *right-leaning moderate* by today's standards?

And the final irony is that Anc's hare-brained schemes seem brilliant compared to the Aristocrats shit-show we've got now? No wonder Hitler blew his fucking brains out.

I do have to clarify something about this: I was ahead of the curve but playing nice. Tamar warned me when the board changed hands that the new management was going to pull... well, what started with me but has been finally boiling over this week. It's been a long time coming, but it ain't exactly breaking news to me.
