eg: Walking The Dog is just an hour of trying to keep us from getting hit by passing cars and standing around garbage and/or dogshit while she smells it and I try to get us home so I can do something productive. Meanwhile, coming in, The Cat wants to go out. So I decide I need to play a few games of MS solitaire to steel myself for my next chore for the day. I promptly lose every game quickly and with no possibility of winning so I decide "fuck it, I'll play with actual cards." I quickly managed to lose a game there before the phone rang. I thought it might be my friend about the job but it was a local number. Robocaller. They've gotten sophisticated enough that if you just don't say anything now the robot will say "Hello?" to trick you into answering. "Recently we sent you a letter regarding Medicar"*CLICK* [BLOCK]. Lose another game of Solitaire. The Dog comes over and decides she needs to be petted so I lose this game while playing with one hand and petting a clingy needy dog with the other. Since I need both hands to shuffle, I just sit like an idiot petting my dog until I remember The Cat is outside. Go to check on him and he's nowhere to be seen. Get the cards shuffled, quickly lose another game and decide to get to work. Phone rings again. This time it's my friend about the job. I still haven't gotten an e-mail from them (but I did manage to delete out an important e-mail while looking so I had to recover that while on the phone with him). So he sends me a couple texts and tells me to try to log onto Outlook Web Access. Trying to fat-finger the e-mail address and password while on the phone takes about 3 tries. Once I'm in...THERE'S ABSOLUTELY NOTHING THAT I CAN DO BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE THE COMPANY LAPTOP YET. I mean, I can read the e-mails about all the IT tickets that were opened and closed for me and the link that I need to go to when I get the work computer, but nothing I can actually do. So I'll be billing them for that 15 minutes. Oh, and since they're on Central time and I'm on Eastern time I was on the phone after hours (for whatever that's worth). So now it's an hour after I got back from the dog walk, I've accomplished nothing, my cat is somewhere missing outside, and I'm even more burned out than when I got home.
