They must've had some kind of programming glitch with Story Television tonight because, on 2/19, instead of doing black history or winter Olympics or some other documentary--or their usual regular programming--they were doing 9/11. Until today I haven't watched a 9/11 documentary because it's still too painful for me. I was on the West Coast and didn't lose anyone I knew, but affected me. Closest I've come is watching the BSG miniseries. They had a thing on about the photographers who'd been there to capture the event and it was emotionally draining. I think I'm glad I watched it, but they had another one on after and I was like "yeah, no."
 
Do you think James Earl Jones ever watched "Star Wars" or "The Lion King" or something and hated the way his voice sounded?

Charlie's Angels s01e07: To Kill an Angel

Okay, my TV tells me the plot synopsis is "The autistic child Kelly's tending stumbles upon a gun left at a murder scene---and shoots her."

  1. Initial thoughts: Kelly seems to have been shot in the head, but since there's nothing in there, meh.
  2. Why do all these 70s cop shows have people chasing each other around in the most uncomfortable shoes possible?
  3. Exidor from Mork and Mindy is in it, so that's a plus I think.
  4. They seem to have only one white corded phone handset for this entire show.
  5. Kelly is having a dream about a princess for some reason.
  6. The kid playing the autistic child is an actor named Dennis Dimster.
  7. I think the woman playing the child's mother is the same chick who played the lady that got slapped around and threatened with all manner of weaponry after she went all hysterical in "Airplane!"
  8. The kid looks like a blond Will Robinson with a bowl cut.
  9. Exidor is evil!
  10. Jill's snazzy Mustang II Cobra peels out like it has some horsepower. Suspension of disbelief is now nullified.
  11. These things always end up with a confrontation at an abandoned amusement park.
  12. Lol, Exidor is trapped on a centrifugal force barrel ride, pinned against the wall while the Blue Danube circus music plays on the... whatever it is.
  13. Child is reunited with the mom who abandoned him, judge says she deserves a second chance, and everyone has a tuna fish sandwich. No joke.
  14. Yikes.
 
And of course, Kelly looks perfect again the next week, no trace of a head wound at all... just like Trump!
 
I have decided my new negative review is "it was better than being punched really hard in the dick repeatedly."

And possibly "it was worse than being punched really hard in the dick repeatedly."

The Love Boat s05e26: Pal-I-Mony-O-Mine/Does Father Know Best?/An 'A' for Gopher

  1. Gopher is trying to nail his former junior high school English teacher, who looks like she's a few years younger than him.
  2. Kevin Brophy aka Lucan the Wolf Boy is in this one, but he's a nerd and doesn't look all that great in a speedo. Until later, probably, when he loses the nerd glasses and becomes a hunk.
  3. Lloyd Bochner doesn't look all that great in swim trunks either.
  4. Vicki Stubing still looks like a Cabbage Patch Doll.
  5. I'm pretty sure Ben Vereen is angling for a threesome with Denise Nicholas and Lynne Moody.
  6. This was filmed in 1982. I'm not sure if this was during Lauren Tewes' coke binge era or not, but her wig is awful.
  7. Gopher is hot for teacher, and it seems like the reverse is true. Ick. (not that I haven't done that)
  8. Pharmaceutical commercials are annoying.
  9. I guess Gopher laid his teacher, Ben Vereen ditched his current girlfriend for his ex in the most shitty way,
