Sky coach James Wade voices displeasure with first-round playoff format as Chicago prepares to defend title
The No. 2 seed Chicago Sky will host the No. 7 seed New York Liberty for the first two games of their first-round matchup, which begins Wednesday night, but the series will shift to New York for a potential decisive Game 3.

"We worked all year to have home-court advantage," Wade said after practice Tuesday. "If you have a bad game, then home-court advantage goes to the lower seed."

Fowles, who finished her 15-year career this season as the league's all-time leading rebounder, is the second Lynx player to receive the honor. The first was Teresa Edwards in 2004. It is the first time Fowles has received the award.

The league's sportsmanship award was named after Perrot following her death in August 1999 from cancer. A guard for the Houston Comets, she helped that franchise win the first two WNBA titles in 1997 and 1998.
