YEAR LONG DIARY THREAD

June 9: Survived urchin's birthday party. He's a very cute little brat, asked me if I wanted to go to Disney with him. Someone got him a little thing with hermit crabs in it.. I wonder how long they'll live, lol. He recently killed all his fish when he dumped a box of cereal in the tank.
 
11 June: Finally home and exhausted after first day of jury duty. I was put through the ringer twice already in 2 jury selections. One was a murder trial that is going to last till mid-July at the earliest. Most of us walked out on that one. The second one was some weird case about a huge black guy who allegedly had sexual relations with a diminished-capacity patient in a psych ward. I tried to act as obtuse and cranky as possible but I still came very close to being picked. The fact that I haven't slept since Saturday night and was intermittently nodding off all day probably helped me in the end.

Must collapse soon, have to do it all over again tomorrow. If I avoid a trial tomorrow, I'm done and won't be called again for 6 years. w00t!

June 11: my day was BORING. It is too hot to go outside. SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH MY GAMECUBE!!!11 OMG.

June 11/07:
Prosaic crap around the house: pruning lilacs;weeding garden; laundry;dishes;
roasted a chicken; went to other BIL's to eat birthday cake & give him his present; back from library; - now just want a nice glass of red & to hide away with a book!
 
12 June: Jury Duty Day 2. Brought the laptop with me, been spamming since I got here. Got a 2-hour lunch. If all goes well, may get out early and be done with it.

Only 20 minutes of battery left in the laptop. May have to resort to reading something. OH NOES! Luckily I have videos on the iPod to lull me.
 
June 12/07:

did a million bloody things all bloody day and am now trying to revitalize with a cappy. gods.

got some pix of my garden this AM.
too boring to post AFTER LOOKING AT A GREEK PARADISE ALL WEEK.

UPDATE: They let us out early, I'm done and released, I'm back home, I took a cooling shower and am now relaxing in my lovely dump of an apartment. :D
 
June 12: Cleaned the dust out of my computer, did more LAUNDRY, vacuumed, and grilled some steaks. OH YEAH SPAMMED. I really need a good book, am considering reading Dune again, but I have to be all Dunish for that. Don't know if it's time.

What's a BIL?

Yesterday I met up with some friends for dinner, everyone was late so we ended up getting the nightbus home, but took the wrong one. Ended up not realising where we were because it was dark... oh well, got home in the end. :)

Today I went to an exhibition of all the art degree courses at uni. Great work.. sort of mingled, going from familiar face to familiar face. Really wished I'd had someone to tag along with all evening.
 
June 13: EXCITEDLY WAITING FOR 10PM!!! Rescue Me season premiere, Yay!

Am sad for Kathy Griffin, just found out her dad died. I guess it happened a couple weeks ago.. don't know, but I just found out.
 
Actually her dad died in January, but I hadn't read about it until I saw it in an article about the season premiere a few weeks ago. Next week's episode deals with him taking a turn for the worse, but I don't know if it all happens in this one episode.

For someone who is mostly out to make a comedy reality show, she really is being put through the ringer this season. From a production standpoint I think she's been handling it very well (i.e., true without overdramatizing it) so far...
 
Joel McHale said something about it on the Soup. Which I never see when it originally airs for some reason.

And I agree, she is handling all this crappy stuff really well. I'd probably start taking drugs AGAIN, lol.

Ugh, two days(well, one day now) till my b'day. :( Didn't do much today besides potter about on the interweb and ration another episode of Jericho.
