July 19/07 - planning to sneak away 1/2 hour early on the ESL class again tonight. Those poor immigrants.
well, it's Chile vs Argentina for goddssake!!

besides, I need the emotional salve...I accidently killed a toad in my garden shifting some heavy rocks for the stone walkway I'm making. Unbeknownst to me, he was underneath one of them.
Squished.
Big Time.
Poor Toady. :(

19/7/7

Yesterday met up again with my Texan aunt and uncle. I like how my uncle says "y'all " a lot. :)

Today we went to uni to check out the fire damage.. looks like something from a movie. Also found out a friend of mine's painting was destroyed which totally sucked. Then we watched Die Hard 4. Crikey, what an amazing movie. Really believable for the first hour or so, but then end probably had too much cgi. Surfing an F-15? And some woman just wouldn't die. Best of the series though IMO!

7/18 (RETROACTIVE since I didn't do much besides go to class today)

Went down to the North End and got drunk and laughed at the Italians. Had some Guiness Stout; it was surprisingly good.

Also, I got the Schrodinger's Cat trilogy, so now I have something to read on the subway.

EXCITING.

July 20/07:

worked for little old lady in AM, (managed not to slaughter any living creatures); listened to re-hash of bad behaviour of Chileans (if I were Chilean, Id fucking started a riot! put the crack pipe down asshole ref!) on the CBC by an idiot who obviously hadnt watched the bloody game; went to my friend's pool to calm down; noted times Harry Potter is on tonight in the theatre. drinking a restorative cuppa tea.

7/20 - Was quite productive this morning. Did 2 loads of laundry, put out the garbage and recyclables. Hoping to purchase the HP book at midnight. Searching for stores who are staying open that late, but don't have lines of nerds with pre-purchase bracelets around the block.

^good luck with that. even up here in bo-hunk, the three (count em, three!) bookstores have midnight parties planned & hundreds of pre-solds ready to go.

it's madness I tell ya! :D

July 21/07:

Harry Potter hand-delivered to the door this AM!
Lily guy @ Farmers' Market asked for my business card for gardening - good, cos I lost one of my little old ladies to cancer over the winter.

NOT looking @last page of book......!! NOT DOING IT.

omg.

Oh, are you a professional gardener type person? I AM JEALOUS :rwmad: Did you see my post about my plumeria aka frangipani finally branching? Maybe it will bloom this year, if I don't somehow kill it.

July 21: Haven't done much of anything. Can't even get in the spirit to read a book. PILLZ PLS

^^yes, Cassie, I remember yer mentioning the frangipani - MORE jealous than YOU - that's WAAAY out of my temp zone.
but good luck *crosses fingers*
post a pic if all goes well. I love the scent of frangipani. mmmmmm
yeah, the gardening biz is a summer augment as all the freaking schools are closed so no income there. "sides, I love getting paid $20/hr doing something I enjoy.
(and gardeners will always give you freebie cuttings/seeds/babies of plants you lust for and want in your own garden ;) )

July 22/07:
took a break from Harry Potter (trying to draw it out as long as possible); did some of my own gardening; noted the time for the Czech/Argentina U20 FIFA Final today; thought about what to put on the fresh lake trout for the barbie: maybe a chipoltle and maple syrup marinade....
absolutely gorgeous outside
