almost finished oak liberation; finished ESL prep: Idioms, Metaphors and Similes.
There's a quilt show on today that I'd like to sneak off and peek at, if I can find the time.
here's a robin this AM in backyard eating berries off my dogwood - thought robins only ate worms?!?!

aww, man:
woken up about 4:50 AM by a firetruck rumbling down our little street - then two EMS vehicles and a cop car....I thought: WTH?
rubbernecked down the street and it looked like it was at my little old Greek neighbours' home....about 25 minutes later all the vehicles quietly left, I thought that wasnt a good sign.
and then when I got back from the Y there was a hearse in front of their house loading up a body back into the back so I went up and asked if it was mr G and the funeral parlour lady quietly answered "yes". Damn! He was just over in the park yesterday with his wife!
I know he was an ancient little guy and had a good kick at the can, but he was always sweet & cheerful and he & his wife had lived in that house for over fifty years. I'll miss him. RIP Mr G.

July 31st/07: odd day: birthday of one of my most loved favourite people and also of one of my most dispised....huh.
back from the beach to do some domestic duties in town...smog warning in effect already and its not even 9AM..not good. Hafta find out what time the funeral is tomorrow and figure out if I can stay overnight at the beach house again & still have time to get presentable....watered the neighbours' tomatoes..one was ready and they wont be be back for a week...if I dont eat it, the raccoons will! soooo....yum yum!
