Sarah Fuller set to kick for Vanderbilt football again after breaking barrier

Sarah Fuller is expected to continue as Vanderbilt's place-kicker on Saturday against Georgia. Last weekend Fuller became the first woman to play in a Power 5 football game when she delivered the second-half kickoff against Missouri, a designed squib kick that was downed without a return at the 35-yard line. Fuller, a senior, was previously a goalkeeper on Vanderbilt's conference championship women's soccer team and was added to the roster just days before the game. By kicking against Missouri, Fuller became just the third woman to participate in an FBS football game, joining Katie Hnida of New Mexico and April Goss of Kent State. On Monday, Fuller was named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week.

ACC makes football schedule adjustments as Notre Dame locks up spot in championship game
Because the Irish hold all tiebreakers, they secured their spot in the game. Notre Dame, which is playing as an ACC football member for this season only, plays Syracuse on Saturday. If Clemson beats Virginia Tech on Saturday, it would secure its spot in the ACC championship game. If Clemson, Notre Dame or Miami cannot play this weekend, the ACC has the option to reschedule games on Dec. 12, as needed.

Alabama football stays unanimous No. 1 in AP Top 25; Buffalo earns first-ever ranking

The Crimson Tide were the unanimous No. 1 for the third straight week, and the top seven teams were unchanged for a fifth consecutive poll. Notre Dame was No. 2, followed by Ohio State, Clemson and Texas A&M to round out the top five. Alabama's poll-appearance streak passed Florida's run of 209 under Steve Spurrier from 1990 to 2002. No. 24 Buffalo is ranked for the first time in school history, breaking into the Top 25 this week without playing a down. The Bulls had their game at Ohio called off on Friday while on their way to Athens because the Bobcats were having COVID-19 issues. The Bulls have been an FBS school playing in the MAC since 1999 and had only two non-losing seasons before Lance Leipold took over as coach in 2015. Leipold, who built a Division III powerhouse at Wisconsin-Whitewater, is in the midst of his fourth straight season of .500 or better at Buffalo.

Top 6 teams remain the same in College Football Playoff rankings; Iowa State now 7th

The top six teams in the College Football Playoff rankings remained the same on Tuesday, including Ohio State, which stayed at No. 4 despite uncertainty about its upcoming opponents. The Big 12, meanwhile, is still alive in the CFP race. The Buckeyes stayed ahead of No. 5 Texas A&M and No. 6 Florida after beating Michigan State 52-12 without more than a dozen scholarship players, including three starting offensive linemen. Earlier Tuesday, Ohio State learned that its upcoming game against Michgan was canceled because of COVID-19 issues within the Wolverines' program. At 5-0, the Buckeyes would need to play another Big Ten opponent this weekend or have the six-game threshold for reaching the league championship adjusted so they could face No. 14 Northwestern next week in Indianapolis.
