Panthers D'Onta Foreman 'grateful' for chance to fulfill promise to late dad
Foreman has the third-most rushing yards (236) since the trade, behind 2021 Tennessee Titans teammate Derrick Henry (347) and Travis Etienne Jr. (270) of the Jacksonville Jaguars. His 7.6 yards per carry ranks first during that time and his three rushing touchdowns are tied for the league lead. Being able to fulfill a promise to his dad is what makes it special for Foreman.
Panthers Baker Mayfield 'about winning'; not job status
Mayfield, 27, will be the backup while healthy for the second straight week, as Walker makes his fourth straight start since becoming the starter in Week 6 after Mayfield suffered a high ankle sprain. Mayfield understands his role as the backup might even be in jeopardy next week if the Panthers activate Sam Darnold.

Panthers fire assistants Evan Cooper, Paul Pasqualoni
Cooper was hired in 2020 by former head coach Matt Rhule, who was fired after a 1-4 start to this season. The 73-year-old Pasqualoni, a former head coach at Syracuse and UConn and a longtime NFL and college assistant coach, joined the team prior to this season.
Carolina Panthers to stick with PJ Walker at QB vs. Falcon
Interim coach Steve Wilks made the announcement Monday afternoon, hours after the team activated quarterback Sam Darnold to the 53-man roster and less than 24 hours after a 42-21 at Cincinnati in which Walker was benched at halftime with Carolina trailing 35-0.
