They should have had a woman walk by in the background with her hands over her face and the Doctor shout "hi mum!" to her.

Having watched it again, the old woman coming in to say something, then moving her mouth about a bit because she darent say anything, got old real quick.

I thought she only did it once the first time I saw it, but no, three times, how very Moffatt to take something that works well once, then keep trotting it out until people are sick of it.

There are too many candidates for the Doctors mother, the woman in the barn, the sister of Khan, or the one RTD intended her to be, the old woman who spoke to Wilf, and who just seeing her made the Doctor angry enough to kill.

Or maybe none of them are, if he is half human its probably on his mothers side.

Oh, I know. I didn't mean to imply that I think OQB of Karn is the winner of that lottery, just one more vague contestant in it. Who knows, maybe the Doctor's pops was a high-grade man-whore. Actually, since we've seen a second Gallifreyan cross-gender regeneration now, OQB of Karn could even be the Doctor's daddy rather than his mama. lol

Also, mightn't it be that Donna Noble is the Hybrid? If we want to go with the "two great warrior races" bit that the 12th Doctor thinks makes himself and Clara traveling together "the Hybrid" -- if the combination of Human and Time Lord counts -- then post-Metacrisis Donna Noble fits that description.

That would also be the other thing he was trying to remind himself of with that face -- that he inadvertently created the Hybrid.

Maybe if anyone had ever heard of the hybrid before this season when Moffat pulled it out of his arse, and suddenly it became the most important thing ever.

They'll find a way to tie it in somehow. Unless they're just gonna let it lay there and rot like a golden apple slowly turning into a road apple.
