Yeah it was a good episode.

I'm surprised Irish guy who's been in everything hasn't been in Doctor Who before. But here he was!

Wasn't there a similar "you'd make a good Dalek" line in the Christopher Eccelston classic 'Dalek'? Good reference or something.
 
I think there was.

I like the fact they kept the dalek alive at the end, apparently those who saw the leaked version got a different ending, where the Dalek beamed back up to the mother ship and self destructed taking them all out.
 
So at the start the Doctor materialises the TARDIS around the soldier girl to save her from her ship exploding. When Gretchen "died" inside the Dalek, did Miss actually materialise her own (evil) TARIDS around her to save her? YEAH, I THINK SO MAYBE.
 
She told the Doctor to remember her, and then she was in head Doctor land with Missy Valeyard.

IMO.

I think so, too. I think Missy is the Rani. :)
 
I just watched it again (flatmate hadn't seen it) and did anyone else notice how similar the initial exchange between the soldier girl and the Doc was to the Lily Sloane/Picard raygun standoff in FC? I swear some of dialogue was directly lifted.
 
I liked it, but so far not too impressed with Mr. Pink. Does it have to be romantic?

Am I just getting cynical in my old age, or is it me missing Donna and wanting friends to be flying around, no romance, nothing. Just adventures.
 
The only part I didn't like was when Pink started crying in front of the students. They could have gone a bit more subtle than that.
 
Can't have her go out with the Doc, so instantly give her a new bloke. But does Who really need coupling?

I really don't like the Dalek episodes but that one was okay.

Best line so far was from the first episode when the Doctor advised "Don't look in the mirror, it's furious!!"
 
It took me a while to get into it, but once it got going it was quite fun and had a few biggish laughs. Peter Capaldi's acting certainly filled in the gaps in quality. I'm not sure why Ben Miller (Sheriff of Nottingham) keeps getting acting jobs as he's not really very good at it imo. He always just sounds like himself but with exaggerated voices, like a dad reading a story to his kids.

The final lines between the Doctor and Robin were really good!

Next week's looks scary!
 
For a moment my brain was telling me he was the missing RAF dad in the Xmas episode in the lancaster, but the connection was there, it was his buddy Armstrong wasn't it?
