Well, here's the big honkin' clue that something's not right. Follow me here:

1. HF registers a dual, or tries to, or something. I'm not clear on this. I do know that the tip off was using his old email.

2. Okay, so: admins, realizing who it was, start researching to see whether or not he was aware of the rules about duals.

Doesn't that strike anyone as weird? Why do that? Why not just drop him a PM or email or something and say "hey, you haven't been here in a while, so maybe you didn't know or forgot, but we don't allow duals, so choose which one you want." But nope, that's too sensible. Instead, Orpheus goes through a lot of research to prove that HF at least looked at the pages mentioning duals, and they suspended him based on that.

That makes no freaking sense, unless at least some of the staff were looking for a reason to can Foolie. That's the only logical answer I can see.

If you want some proof: my hubby CU first registered there as Rommie's Ronin. Then he abandoned the account. Then he registered again as the Masked Coyote. They didn't boot him, they put him in limbo and asked him to choose an account. That's what you do --- assuming you're really impartial on the subject.

Thank the gods and goddesses, someone gets it.

Talking behind some one's back is doing it PM style. Snickering and bickering privately in some chat room, or email, or IM. That would be talking behind some one's back. Not this.

Yes, we do trust the admins, Cait. I can't tell you whether PMs, emails or anything else was sent, all I could tell you was what I've read in the SL-at least to say that there was no talk of getting rid of anyone.

They were willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I can't say why HF would try to register a dual, I don't even know if it was him personally or someone who had access to his logon info and set him up, all I can say is they did not just jump up and shout to ban him.

I don't even know why I'm trying to say anything. I'm sorry for my previous post and I don't know your mind when you sat there and picked my post apart. I was just trying to explain what happened and I got picked apart for my efforts.

It won't happen again, nothing anyone says will make any difference here anyway.

I find it sad that if you post, or take part in the AQG, you are reduced to statistical data and post counted. You are judged on how much of your total post count is spent in the AQG, and why are you in there so much? I've never understood why this is of such great importance that you are reduced to a mathematical equation and it's held against you as part of some greater evil conspiracy to harm EI. It is interesting to note that no one keeps track of how much time a member spends in any other part of EI, except the AQG by the bean counters.

Chatty, you weren't picked apart, and your post wasn't picked apart, the "Official Story" was picked apart. I know it must have felt otherwise, but I took issue with the official story.

I've nothing but good feelings for you and always have and I believe you reported exactly what you saw and read in the SL. Of this I am certain. That doesn't mean the official story isn't without its credibility issues.
