Republicans hate the poor.

We're resisting this shit. Real people are saying fucking No. We're fucking saying no. We're not fucking having this shit. Signed statements in courtrooms, 7.62mm bullets, we're not fucking having it. The government exists to serve us, fucking not the other way around. We own it, it does not fucking own us. Get on board, you fucking coward cunts.. This is the time to choose sides, You're either with the people or with the fucking mafia, and guess what -- the people are going to win. We outnumber them a million to one, we outgun them a thousand to one, we're going to stomp their authoritarian asses into puddles of fucking blood, so you either get with freedom or you get fucked, so pick one.

Nah, what am I thinking. You cunts have been indoctrinated all your fucking lives to bow down to self-appointed "authorities." Pathetic.

Damn right. And you know what's especially amusing? I've explained why taxation is theft. What have you done to offer a reasoned, logically laid out rebuttal to that? So far, nada. 'Cause, protip: Just saying, "NO NO NO NO NO!" like a toddler doesn't count as a logically laid out rebuttal. Just claiming that we owe them somehow doesn't explain why we owe them.

What more logical argument in favor of taxes do I need than to support our country, our defense, our infrastructure?

And you haven't explained anything. You've recited the whack nut philosophy of extremist dogma. You could have done far better and been more believable had you just said "I don't believe in taxes cause I'm greedy. I want mine and fuck you". Because THAT is the real philosophy behind it.

This. You want the government to serve the people? That's good. But the government needs money in order to function and provide those services - like schools, roads, defense, etc. And where is the money supposed to come from? Is the government supposed to just print shitloads of money? No. Why? Because Germany tried that after WWI, where the victorious Allies made Germany pay for all the war debts, and look what happened. Germany's economy collapsed, and it paved the way for Hitler to come to power. Instead, the government needs taxes to fund everything. You don't get something for nothing.

As for taxes being behind the Revolutionary War? Taxation in and of itself wasn't the problem. It was taxation without representation. The fact that the colonies were being taxed without being represented in Parliament. That they had no way of striking up a deal about what was to be taxed, and by how much, in order to pay for the Seven Years'/French-And-Indian War.

And there is such a thing as too much personal freedom. Rule of law would cease to exist, and society would break down into "Might Makes Right" very quickly. We'd have the corporations becoming a Neo-Feudal establishment, with the CEOs and directors as nobles, and the workers as serfs. And you could bet that there would be a revolution against that, eventually. The only common people who WOULDN'T be serfs in the new system would be people in "Mad Max"-style gangs.

That's an argument in favor of the necessity of it, not against the nature of it being theft. Why not at least try, or simply and honestly admit that of course it's theft, then move on to try to defend that theft instead of just skirting the issue?

And the real philosophy isn't "I want mine and fuck you." It's "I want each of us to have his and her own, and fuck thievery."

I wondered how long it would be before somebody vomited up the tired old "muh ROADS!" bullshit.

So I used roads as an example. That still doesn't change the fact that they're necessary for transporting goods - including food across the country. And if you live in a place with a shitton of potholes, like say, Central Pennsylvania, you'd know just how important (and expensive) maintaining those roads are.

ABORT! ABORT!

Because it's not theft. Read the 16th Amendment. It's a constitutional duty of government to collect taxes. And it's our responsibility to pay taxes to support our country.

For a member of a group that claims they want to return to and support the constitution, you conveniently forget about the things you don't like.

There's also this little thing: It costs money to produce money - and the government needs to be able to pay for the money it printed (I am fully aware of how convoluted this is). And the money you have? Technically, the state OWNS the money it produces - all the money you have is really just the government saying "okay, you did this much work (ideally), here's how much will let you have for now - do whatever the fuck you want with it, as long as its legal". Basically, it's like borrowing something with no set time limit for its return, since, ultimately, it will just get recycled through the system again.

It says the Congress 'shall have power to'. That doesn't sound like an obligation to me, but rather an allowance. You're still defending the necessity of the theft rather than acknowledging or disproving that it is theft.

Does that mean there's no justification for them taxing payroll, particularly if it's paid out via direct deposit? They produce cash, meaning paper money and coinage. So how does your "they produce it, so they own it" pan out, really? And if that makes taxation anything other than theft, what it makes it is a system of compulsory labor; either way, a significant percentage of your working life is spent in compulsory labor on behalf of the state.

It's just funny in this post-TK era of TK -- when someone tries to troll here, the troller just looks kind of sad, like they should be behind glass. Souveniers available in the gift shop.
