I am impressed by your knowledge of mutiny!
I have spent all these years not being bothered by some of the silly stuff ST uses to move the story along. They could have called it insubordination or something, but I'm guessing that wouldn't carry enough weight to get her kicked out of Star Fleet. They needed her to be in that dire circumstance so whatshisname could get her on the Discovery, I guess. They could have gone all out and made it a real mutiny, but that would have stained her character more (the character's character lol). We're supposed to know that she is a loyal officer of Star Fleet, and the actions she took were what she truly believed were for the good. Maybe they will get past everyone calling her a mutineer and we can begin to forget about it.
