Stargate Universe

SPOILERS

Yeah, really good episode. Lots of Rush action and Young wasn't being a dick for once (can't see that lasting very long, though). Kept the tension up quite well with all our favourite recurring characters being in jeopardy at some point, though that did start to grate after a while.

It's a shame thingy died in the end as it felt like there was more for him to do. They only really touched on explaining why he was so angry in this episode, but we still don't really know why he had his heart set on destroying Earth.

Chloe having a purpose is good, now she just needs a personality.

Yes the Rush stuff was good and Robert Carlyle did GOOD ACTING. But I agree that it felt like a waste of Robert Knepper was this was the first episode he really did anything and he still didn't get very many lines or anything. And Ginn and Perry really are dead, so that makes me sad. Maybe the ship will bring them back as holograms or something.

They didn't really say if Rush's friend's body had died, or if it was her conscious, and that Ginn is still alive in her body back on earth, that whole bit was glossed over quite quickly.

Good episode, although a line from Lock Stock and two smoking barrels springs to mind.

"OK, well everyone stop getting shot!"

They didn't make it explicitly clear in the script whether both characters were dead, but Eli's reaction said it all.

They're alive! No wait the aliens just brought them back temporarily after they died on the planet. Dead again. And TJ's baby not there. Wtf was the whole point of the episode? I guess that ends the whole mysterious aliens storyline. I suppose the shuttle will revert to being broken too.

I'm pretty sure Lt boobs confirmed that Amanda was also dead, and that is why Rush went storming through the gate.

Yeah, I heard her say that, but was she dead because her peronality was in the body that died, or was she dead because both bodies died at the same time?

She died because the body she was in died, and the other chick died because her body died.

Cain (or whatever the last guy was named) might still be alive. They didn't explicitly show his death, they did say that all of the people were just reverting to the state the aliens found them in, and at the end we saw that he was alive when they found him. If he's dead, I can't imagine the point of the kino subplot. :S:

SPOILARS

I liked this week's (even though I knew how it was going to end...). The way they have these aliens just on the periphery and how they bring them into the story without revealing very much is interesting. With a lot of shows it'd get frustrating, but I like the mystery. We're finding out little bits here and there just as the characters are. I'm really curious where they're going with the cosmic background radiation story. The Eden aliens are presumably behind that, but what are we going to find out? That they created the universe?

I liked this week's episode too. I also would like to know what happened to the BABY. Was that all a dream, or did the aliens really take the baby somewhere? And, Chloe is getting more interesting and less annoying all the time, in fact all the characters I used to find annoying are getting better.

They got a shiny new shuttle! I was kind of afraid that this episode was done purely as a plot device to get them a shuttle, but it didn't end the way I expected, so I'm thinking this one will be much more than that.

Kind of disappointing episode, other than the stuff with Greer and them gaining a new shuttle, everything felt very disposable.

Rush certainly seemed to have no after effects from the previous episode.

I think the problem there is that they film the episodes out of order, so when Eli and Rush should still be miserable, Eli's worrying about/pining for Chloe and Rush is back to his usual self.

Come to think of it, you'd think they'd both be very interested in technology that could bring back the dead.

I thought it was really lame how there was no mention at all of Ginn or Amanda. They only died last week! If the episode was supposed to be earlier in the season, well, the should have shown it earlier in the season.

The scene with Greer talking to Chloe was good, but this Chloe plot is sooooo dragged out. Like eight episode she was saying "oh no, my arm's a bit scaley!" and after all that we're only at "oh no, my leg's a bit scaley!"

The main plot was interesting, but it did seem like an excuse to give them a shuttle again and I don't remember Cain being so annoyingly religious before.

I thought this week's episode was a definite upgrade over that "fake people in a shuttle and whatever" crapfest. I'm skurred about how long this little mid-season break will be, though?

The thing about the episodes being filmed in the wrong order, Greer had his arm in a sling because he got shot last week, you would think even if they did film it before the previous episode they would at least know what was going to happen in it.

ARGH... it kinda looks like that episode was all for the shuttle. No mention of the one guy who was still alive at the end.

OMG, CHLOE FINALLY DOES SOMETHING.

I thought we were supposed to assume he died anyway. But they brought him back once, they could do it again. Maybe the aliens will refine their techniques.

Anyway, funny that we should be complaining that Rush and Eli didn't show any ill effects from losing their significant others, since it was addressed in THIS WEEKS EPISODE.

Really exciting, unpredictable ep. Bit convenient that Telford and the turtle aliens turned up just as Destiny was about to get blown up, but it was nice to get a resolution for that story.

Chloe has an alien tit!

Whatever she did probably helped save the ship. The blue aliens want Destiny, so it stands to reason that her brainwashing would kick in to protect the ship, rather than sabotage it just as it's about to be blown up.

I used to think David Blue was a really good actor, but I've been having my doubts lately. He plays almost everything in that jokey style, which seemed to be part of Eli's way of coping with everything, but now I just think the actor doesn't have a lot of range.

Maybe Lt James's boobs will save everyone when SGU returns.

I thought the guy was going to live, since he was praying at the end and then WHOOSH they were at Destiny, but I probably just wasn't paying attention to something.

How long is the hiatus?
