What film did you recently see ? Do not forget to rate it

Quills

I hadn't seen it in a few years and forgot how much I loved it. Geoffrey Rush is brilliant, Kate Winslet is flawless as always, and Joaquin Phoenix is HOT

10/10

"The Hangover", 20/10. Fucking brilliant, might be the funniest movie I've ever seen. Goddamn, I want to see it again right now!

El Método

Rating : Beyond Perfection.

If there's a movie that ought to be called "thought provoking", it's El Método.

BUY/DOWNLOAD THIS MOVIE RIGHT NOW !!!!

The Curious Case of ....:sleep:

Booooooooring. Ye gods, I found myself skipping through most of this pretentious, not the best acting (an oscar nomination for Taraji P. Henson, really?) and just overall uninteresting movie that somehow earned a best movie nod..

2/10.

Went to see Land of the Lost this weekend. If you're a fan of Will Ferrel, then go see this. If you're not, you'll be disappointed as this is 90% a Will Ferrel vehicle.

Will Ferrel Fans 7/10
Non-Will Ferrel Fans 5/10

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

6.5/10

It's a cool flick, with nice action, but it's cheesy as all hell, something the first one managed not to be. And Shia trying to act as a super genius was verrrrrrrry hard to watch.

OK, I've got a lot to put in.

Hitman

Great movie. Fucking fantastic action film. I was never bored. Not for one minute. It helps that the main characters are incredibly nice to look at. Timothy Olyphant is a very under-used actor. He's a brilliant cold-blooded guy. Olga Kurylenko... wow... really a hottie. She also acts well, too. It did get a bit James Bond-ish from time to time, but overall it was a lot of fun to watch.

9/10

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans

*yawn*

Let me repeat that

*YAWN*

If I wanted to watch some pretentious teenage drama movie about vampires, I'd go watch Twilight. However, I'd rather dig my eyeballs out with flaming hot pokers, first, so that won't be happening any time soon.

3/10 It only gets that because there were really cool armor and swords. It's also the first movie I've seen in a long time that used ballistae.

Alien Resurrection

7/10

Not the best in the whole series, but definitely a good movie to watch. I'd rank it ahead of Alien3. I think saying anything about it spoils the movie for anyone who hasn't watched it. Therein lies the rub. Once you've seen it, it loses its re-watching potential. It goes WAY off canon as far as how the Aliens are, but it does a great job of explaining why. But, I'm not a purist when it comes to the Alien movies, so I didn't care all that much.

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939)

Jimmy Stewart delivers an astonishing performance. He just dominates the screen when he's on. The ending is by far one of the better endings I've seen in any political movie. The political movies of today are far too timid to deal with what this movie delivers like a punch in the jaw. Corruption, greed, backstabbing, and political evils. Just one big roller coaster ride.

9/10

Last house in the woods.
If you want gore but don't mind a bad plot and horrible acting. It's not a bad movie.

Hell Ride

Tarantino's latest pet. Not nearly as good as Death Proof, or either of the Kill Bill's. Lots of Tarantino-esque dialogue. Only, it wasn't as good as what he's been able to pull off in the past. It was just campy at times. However, it's a good, old-fashioned revenge movie that's got a lot of old western twists. They even named a motorcycle Trigger. It has a lot going on, and it can be hard to follow at times, but it's definitely great popcorn fodder. Despite what negative things I can say about its technical aspects, it's really a great movie and I loved watching it. The score and the soundtrack will knock your socks off. Just remember to bring your whiskey and weed.

Long live the three B's!

Push

The effects were cool, and nice to see how Dakota Fanning has transitioned, but other than that, nothing spectacular. They had a great concept, they just couldn't pull it off effectively.

6/10

It's been a couple of weeks I have not watched any movies.

I'll be watching Hard Candy and Moon (this one seems to be interesting) soon.

I know Mirah already put this one in this thread, but I think it needs a repeat.

Knowing

Well, what can I say? The main character (Nick Cage) is an MIT professor who acts like a crazy person because he found a bunch of prophetic numbers. I guess that's what pissed me off about this movie. A couple of (seemingly) smart people who know about catastrophic events beforehand, but act like total looney tunes when they try and prevent it. The kids oftentimes have more intelligent dialogue than their genius parents. That sort of shit really annoys me. The intellectual undertone of the movie eventually felt like bamboo under the fingernails. WE GET IT ALREADY! THE MOVIE IS ABOUT FAITH! CUT IT THE FUCK OUT! Finally, this leads me to the melodramatic bullshit that goes on in the ENTIRE movie. The score is also so over the top, that I had to crank the volume just to hear the characters.

This movie was one giant pile of pretentious pseudo-intellectual sci-fi-wannabe bullshit.

5/10 I only give it this rating because the single redeeming factor is that there is a ton of really spectacular catastrophic death and gore.

And when the stupid bitch dies near the end, I cheered! Stupid cunt.

Seriously, just fastforward to the plane crash and the train crash and you'll have seen all the good that this movie has to offer.

Abrams` nuTrek 2.0

Aqualung's rating: 6/10

I refuse to discuss Trek 11 as I don't want to RUIN/SPOIL it for Treksters & others who haven't seen it yet:)

Futurama: Beast with a Billion Backs: Trite bullshit. Hardly worthy of being called Futurama, IMO. 4/10

Rewatched Aliens recently, will always give this film the big thumbs up. 9/10

About to watch 28 Weeks Later. 28 Days Later was pure win, so expecting mucho awesome.

And 28 weeks later lived up to and kicked the shit out of my expectations. Pure win. I'm first in line to see 28 Months Later. 9.5/10
