I Answer All Questions About LOST

They could've been brainwashed like Karl was, or just mislead in some way to think Jack deserved to be in the cage.

Keep in mind that it's apparent several passengers were manuveured into getting on that plane with the intent of delivering them somewhere. Claire definitely was with Aaron, Jin and Sun were, Kate probably was, and so was Jack.

IMO, Cindy and the other adults are converts to DHARMA and had a general idea about the importance of some of the passengers. Seeing Jack perhaps being "processed" shouldn't be a shock to them.

OH so you think Cindy was with DHARMA before the plane crash? Still, though, I'd think anyone would be a little concerned about keeping people in animal cages.

She'd have to be nuts to get on a plane knowing it was going to crash.

Well, see... that's the thing. If what I think was really going on is true, then the crash is a total accident and the result of Des not pushing the button on time.

If you go back to the pilot episode and see the cockpit when Jack and Kate are crawling around inside it, you can see the landing gear level shows the landing gear was down. That plane was attempting to land when it was caught in the effects of the Swan EMP.

Where it was attempting to land is a whole other discussion.

Oh yeah, I've heard that theory before. It makes sense. I just wonder where they were planning on taking them to begin with.

Oh, maybe the third island? Although it'd have to be quite far away since the plane was still fairly high up when it started to break apart. It did seem to be at about the right height to be about to land, rather than cruising hundreds of feet up. For what it's worth, there's a flight path over my house and planes are usually at about that height when they're coming into land at the airport that's around 4-5 miles away.

Exactly.

Incidentally, to answer an old question: the producers in the last podcase confirmed that Des did indeed timetravel while unconcious.

Now that opens up another can of worms, doesn't it? It does go along with my theories about what's really going on, but I don't think I've read anything official about it one way or the other until now.

So, it wasn't just a flashback while he was unconscious? And did he actually meet Charlie in that timeline, and Charlie doesn't remember a lunatic coming up to him babbling about the island while he was performing on the street? Curiouser and curiouser, but I suppose you could attribute the lack of memory to the heroin addiction...

I don't like the time travel idea. It is too cheesy.

To me, depends on how they handle it.

Most timetravel incidences on TV are linear... you're one point in time and you go to another point in time then come back... hopefully. If what I think is going on is actually going on, then the flashbacks are actually incidents of time travel, and our heroes are living the flashback and the episode at hand at the same time. I think.

So what I'm talking about it parallel instances of existence for people on that island... if you grok me here.

OK time travel is one of those concepts that I have trouble wrapping my brain around.

So they are time traveling during the flashbacks.. but did what occurred during the flashbacks actually occur in the past or only when they traveled to the past..changing things?

Why does this conversation feel like deja vu?

If I'm right about this... and that's no guarantee... then the events are happening simultaneously.

What the fuck is up with Locke?

My best guess right now is that he's finally flipped. He wasn't exactly stable to begin with.

Think on it: he's troubled in Australia, he crashes on this island and regains the use of his legs, he gets all spiritual after that and an encounter with a light monster, then he's led to the hatch while getting Boone killed.

Then he's shown that the number pushing game is a psych experiment, so he decides to stop pushing the button. But that was a mistake, it turns out.

So he goes on an LSD trip and meets Boone again, then rescues Eko only to have Eko killed by the island... he's cracked, and he's got vengeance in his eyes.

Incidentally, the CTV trailer for next week has him telling Ben

"I'm not here for Jack, I'm here for the sub."

Oh yeah I saw that in the previews for next week. I was hoping that he wasn't completely cracked because I've always liked how his spiritual oneness with the island worked out for him. I guess I wanted him to be right about the island.. that there was something more than just manipulation by the Others, or DHARMA or whoever is pulling the strings.

How is it that the Others, and I'm assuming eyepatch dude was an Other too, have so much information on everyone who crashed on that island? I mean they have details beyond what even an intensive background check would give. OOOOhhh possibly with time travel, they could discover things.

The second half of this season is so good.. I'm glad they finally got their shit together.

oh, yes indeed... Events have left him bitterly disillusioned.
He stole that plastic explosive with some specific purpose in mind.
