Star Trek Discovery

I’m enjoying it too. I try not to get hung up on whether or not it’s Star Trek and just enjoy it for what it is, which is a rare Sci-Fi series which has had a bit of money thrown its way.

You need to get an ota antenna so you can watch the Star Treks EVERY NIGHT.
I have every ep of every show and all the movies ripped to view on my media player. I had to take a break from DS9 because I got sick of it from watching it too much.

I am almost at the sick of DS9 stage, too! lol

So Mudd is literally a mass murderer now? Also Stella gets a lot older and fatter in the next ten years.

Yeah, no, total load of shit.

Harry Mudd as an actual villain? No. Fucking dumb cunts, fuck off, Mudd was only ever supposed to be a likeable rogue. Piss on your "re-imagining" vomit, the fuck outta here with that crap.

It was really weird how they did nearly a whole episode of Harry brutally murdering people (and enjoying it) then did a light-hearted "Harry got away with it, don't you just love him!" ending.

At least he was just murdering people and not raping them, unlike Kevin Spacey.

OFFICER HAUGHT!

Burnham and Tyler's romance is sweet, AT LEAST.

I liked it until the weird TOS style ending. Being taken care of by a clingy wife and her loaded father isn’t much of a punishment for murdering hundreds of people continually for days.

Why the hell was the new Stella hawt? Like what the shit, she's supposed to be nasteh, but instead she's nasteh-hawt. WTFery.

Alcohol can move time back or forward, depending on who you're with and the age of consent is in your state.

The Klingon plot was actually the better part of the episode, for once.

Saru was sad... and also DOES HE HAVE HOOFS?

The Klingon lady (whatever her name is) is great, but I still hate their plastic faces.

Why did the bad Klingon go through all the effort of facepainting her only to say "actually I know you're a traitor!" Seemed like a waste of time.

Yeah it was almost like he did it to build up tension for an audience. Interesting how they’ve made her such a sympathetic character despite basically raping Lt Whatshisname for months and electrocuting Admiral Thingy. I agree the Klingon plot was the better part of the episode, though I find there has to be at least one human in the scene for me to care what’s going on.

The Avatar planet was interesting to start with, but something about all those scenes seemed very disjointed to me. I guess because they were trying to keep us guessing over whether the Organians were good or bad.

Saru’s my favourite character in the sense that he’s unusual and interesting... but he is very annoying. He wouldn’t be your first pick of people to spend your lunch hour with.

So I guess Stamets is caught between our universe and the mirror universe? Did everybody else get that ages ago and I only just picked up on it? Hinting at it while he looked in a mirror was clever.

One thing I noticed in this one that I haven't seen commented on anywhere else is the scene where Saru goes to take a nap and is awakened, the sound effect that plays is almost exactly like the transporter room/effect from The Cage.

Check it out, tell me I'm nuts later, but it's definitely there.

But Lt Beardyface is the white klingon, so he wasn't really being raped, and his beating on her was A) for show, and B) just klingon foreplay.

I think he is referring to Tyler, maybe. I DON'T KNOW.
