When I realized I didn't want to give up porn or booze for Lent, I decided to try giving up meat and it works. Mostly. But somehow I wound up with 2# of frozen salmon last week. I've got a decent plate, with salmon, brown rice, and corn on the cob, with brown bread and a beer, but my brain is tickling me with some kind of fancy sammich. Like, salmon filet on a nice crusty fat slice of sourdough with a really green green/lettuce and some kind of white dressing. But I haven't figured out the dressing. Cream cheese? Maybe. It's basically a variation on a bagel with lox. Maybe some pickled onions to boot. Or instead of cream cheese, some kind of whipped butter with dill. Pickle spear and kettle roasted chips.
